A great man always considers the timing before he acts - Chinese proverb.

Al started his musical career at the age of 4 1/2 years old when his parents purchased a pair of bongos for him while on vacation in Lake George New York. Seeing a natural rhythm and percussive ability, his parents fostered his musical ability by purchasing him a drum set, at great expense. His parents could not afford drum lessons for Al, so he would play his drums along to records for hours at a time. His first public performance was at the age of 5 in the Christmas pageant as the little drummer boy in the Queen of All Saints Church, in Bedford Stuyvesant School in Brooklyn.

Al was in numerous garage bands as a young teen and formed a band called Concrete Falcon based out of New Milford, New Jersey. At the age of 14, Al and his band performed at the legendary Palisades Park Battle of the Bands where his band won second place.

Al continued playing the drums through high school and college and formed a three piece band called "Dove" with Hammond B3/Piano player, female singer, and Al on Drums vocals. Al and Dove performed 3 nights a week in various New Jersey venues all through his college years. During college, Al also started his Piano studies and ignited his now passion for the jazz and Hammond Piano/keyboard styles. Once Al graduated college, he put his music on hold to establish his career and raise a family.

After 20+ years, Al resurrected his musical career in 2000 when he formed a band on drums and vocals with Karen Beals called Tapped Out. Realizing it tough to establish himself as a talented drummer in the saturated Hudson Valley area, Al turned his attention to the keyboards where he realized they were in big demand. At the start of 2002, Al joined the popular Hudson Valley Band called the Shallows Oldies Band as a vocalist / keyboard player. Al has opened for the Drifters, Coasters, Platters, and many other top oldies acts and played with them until the end of 2004. At the start of 2005, Al started a band with Tina Loveday called CloudNYne where he plays drums and sings. In a few short months, CloudNYne became one of the top bands in the Hudson Valley area and was selected as the official house band for Mix 97 FM Radio. Al also sings and plays keyboards with a local band called the Hittmen, as well as fill-in work, duos, etc with many other musicians in the Hudson Valley.
